For me, the inaugural phase of any journey – be it in work, life, or a new job – lays the foundation for what’s to come. Stepping into Curve Analytics, the first 90 days have been a whirlwind of excitement and learning.

GETTING STARTED

My first day at Curve was dynamic and welcoming. I had the pleasure of meeting my Professional Development Manager, who took me out for lunch and introduced me to the team. It was a great start to understanding the Curve culture and what life here is all about.

Upon joining, I attended onboarding trainings at the offices at Aldwych House. They gave me a real glimpse into Curve’s methodologies and daily operations, setting the stage early on for what to expect. Being in the office and meeting the team fuelled my excitement and readiness for what was to come!

FIRST MONTH: SETTLING IN

Life at Curve

In my first week, I met with every team member individually and was struck by how driven and friendly the team was. We bonded over rooftop lunches, weekly gatherings, and monthly socials, giving me a strong sense of camaraderie with the team.

Some aspects that quickly gave me insight into the culture at Curve include: the snack table brimming with treats, souvenirs from team travels, and the competitive spirit that emerges during sports events. We also have company-wide bi-weekly meetings, but they aren’t just about updates and projects; they include Friday entertainment, where team members share their passions, whether it’s pizza, dancing, or travel. It’s a fantastic way to learn more about each other.

Diving into the work

The first month was a whirlwind of activity as I dove into various projects, getting a feel for Curve’s methods and client portfolio. The team provided valuable training in AI and GPT, digital data analysis, and consulting skills like storytelling and insights. These really helped me hit the ground running.

I was introduced to the project I would be leading and met the key stakeholders in the first 2 weeks of joining. Regular client sessions and collaborative meetings with the tech team allowed me to delve into Curve’s cutting-edge insights technology.

Delivering my first project report felt like a big milestone; I was given responsibility and ownership to lead the team, while being supported by senior members. I felt proud as the team worked collaboratively, partnering with the client, to build an actionable and impactful insights report that resulted in very positive feedback.

REFLECTING BACK

Reflecting on my first 90 days, now at the 180-day mark, I am leading projects independently, collaborating across tech and insights teams, and contributing to the dynamic and engaging environment that defines Curve. I have developed my skillset, been stretched, and challenged, grown personally and professionally, and even skied for the first time with my colleagues!

As I continue my journey, one thing remains certain: the journey through Curve is as thrilling as it is rewarding, and the best is yet to come.
